Clinical Pilates is a 1:1 or 2:1 session. This form of Pilates is advisable if you are recovering from an injury, have a back, neck or shoulder issue. It’s also highly recommended you pursue Clinical Pilates if you have been regularly seeing a health professional for treatment.

Initially a full postural assessment is taken so that advice can be given to improve your posture. This will also inform which exercises are going to be the most beneficial for you. Often the cause of the pain and stiffness is muscle imbalance. This can be treated by lengthening and strengthening the correct muscles to alleviate symptoms, sometimes completely.

During our everyday life we develop poor movement/muscle patterns which over time become a ‘habit’, for example: sitting hunched at computer, a slouched driving position, bending forward with the legs straight etc. By retraining the body and mind we can change this ‘habit’ to a more efficient way of moving and exercising pain free.

Clients are advised that in booking an appointment/course they are reserving a time exclusively for their session. We require twenty-four hours (one working day) notice for cancellation of any appointment to avoid incurring the full cost of the booked session.

What our clients say....

I get a bad neck quite regularly (due to poor posture and a bit of stress added in)! Sonya goes to my gym and told me about Bowen technique so I decided to give it a go! It was a really lovely relaxing session, working around the body but with the right amount of focus and (good) discomfort in the right places to work the areas that were really tight. I came out feeling different and my neck is definitely moving more freely! Would highly recommend Bowen, Sonya is fab. Pilates Rooms where she works is a brilliant space too, a place for proper, much needed self care. Will definitely be going back for further sessions as it's good for loads of different ailments and just feels great, as a woman of 44 I think I'm gonna need it!

I have been attending Pilates since Sept 2013 for general health and well being, and I am feeling more toned in areas that needed to be. Louisa gives fabulous tuition and I would firmly recommend. I love the way we progress because it can be easy to become bored doing the same routines. Classes are fun and friendly whilst still taking us further, I always love ‘that Friday Feeling’

I started Pilates for general health and well-being. I have been attending class for about 11 months and have noticed an improvement in my balance. The class is very good, it would be better if there was more time at the end to chat to Louisa before the next class comes in. She is an excellent instructor and I would recommend to friends
